2023 THE YEAR IN REVIEW

Time to reflect on what was done and plan what's to come because the work is never done. Please help ensure iMPeRFeCT can keep making a difference in Philly, your support, makes a huge impact!

While moving things around at iMPeRFeCT Gallery recently, we came across our very first signing book from 2012. We couldn’t NOT browse through it! The first pages totally warmed our hearts, reading lovely wishes and sentiments from friends and neighbors, sent us down memory lane… and we thought of our first exhibitions, our first Last Suppers, poetry readings, Rumbas etc. and the hunger/enthusiasm of the community that welcomed us. We couldn’t help but feel proud of how much we have done since then, with the support of our thriving artistic community in our beautiful thriving Germantown. We wanted to build a safe place for artists to speak to the world, a place where you could push the envelope and connect with people. And you know what?? We did all of that, and with your help, we’re STILL doing it!! While reviewing the year in photos we realized just how far all those wishes and sentiments went, how they fueled us!

We started iMPeRFeCT in our own little corner of the world, trying to fill a void in our area. Now, in our 12th year, good things are still happening, we got a couple of write ups on The ArtBlog, we held our first outdoor film screening with the Philadelphia Latino Film Festival, the Full Moon outdoor concerts are going strong and our Friday Night Rumbas got us named as a place to experience latino arts culture in The Philadelphia Inquirer. We are still doing what we set out to do, except now, it feels like we are making a broader impact.

It's the beginning of 2024, the gallery is in transition, it is a blank canvas again and we are giddy for what the future might bring, the possibilities are endless!!! This has been a magical wild ride, if you would like to be a part of this journey and give iMPeRFeCT more staying power, please contribute what you can to help us reach the $20,000 goal of our End of Year campaign, any amount is good, collectively it goes a long way.

Our work is being recognized by Philadelphia media, here's a sample below of some of the attention iMPeRFeCT has gotten recently. Starting with a 4 minute feature on Fox's "The 215" by Mike Greenidge you will get a taste of our approach to our exhibitions and our work in general. None of this would have been possible without the support of a community of people who believed that change is possible through the arts.
